Carol Lee Sampson - Singer/Songwriter
As well as song writing and occasional gigging, I have the privilege to play regular daytime solo sessions in dementia units, and rest homes, experiencing first hand the wonderful effect  that music has, on the folks that I sing to.

My aim is to communicate encouragement, joy and fun through the music,  and especially with these sessions,  I try to 'tap in' to individuals, and bring  songs which may trigger a precious memory or two. Armed with percussion instruments,  guitar, (sometimes piano), and an ever increasing song list, I'm loving every minute of this particular daytime music venture,  finding great reward in the wonderful smiles and responses from the old folks!

Have just been in the studio again with  producer Dave Draper, at Tower Studios, Pershore, recording a real upbeat song of encouragement, called 'Not a day goes by'.
Hopefully will soon get it uploaded onto the digital platforms, and maybe even get a nice video to go with it!

It's already been over a year since I joined forces with the brilliantly talented Ben Church, to form our little country blues n folk band, and it's taken this long for the boys to decide what we wanna be called. So, because of their love for real ale (I'm always the taxi driver on our gigs!)  we've chosen THE BLACK PEARS.... as it's the name of a locally brewed beer here in Malvern.! Also, we've been absolutely thrilled to welcome our newest member, the fab Keith Baker, on drums, whose tasteful and sensitive playing perfectly completes our sound!
So if you enjoy a bit of foot tapping country bluesy tunes and ballads,  then please get in touch.......we cover songs from Dylan, JJ Cale, Lucinda Williams, Ry Cooder and many others.
Ben Church on acoustic/slide/electric guitar, harmonica & vocals,  Gareth Sampson on bass,  myself on acoustic & vocals, and Keith Baker on percussion and drums.
We don't take up too much space, and play at a comfortable noise level!!

.......or you can just book little ol' me, with my guitar or piano..... singing a mixture of classic covers, with a few of my originals thrown into the mix....

Please email: for more info, or the contact Carol page. x
